Saying "Goodbye" To The Training Manual

This photo was taken in 2015; goodness, what I have learned in the last eight years! What will I learn in the next eight years!? So exciting.

#bensonmaremmastraining,

The training manual was the first book I published. At the time, the task of writing it seemed imposing. I was blessed by my association with IAABC. Through their writing mentorship course, I met my editor, Eileen Anderson. She believes in my "writer's voice" and inspires me. I love to write, to share white dog stories as I think of it, and with Eileen's help, the next book will be even better.

I absolutely believe in the value of the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Foundations Course. The training manual was written as my effort at translating how to use the course to full advantage with livestock guardian dogs. The new book will require no translation. My working title, which could change, is "How To Teach Marker Training To LGDS - And Why."

My confidence as a trainer has changed a lot since I wrote the training manual. There is so much more that I want to say! Rather than revising the training manual, which I did consider, I will instead dedicate my writing time to the new book.

It may take me a few days to remove the training manual from publication, so if you have been on the fence about the manual and the course, you have just a little more time.

Thank you to all of you who have purchased the training manual and completed the Foundations course. There are a LOT of you!!!! I have been amazed at that. And thank you to all of you who have supported me as a writer with your kind words and encouragement.
